About Me
I’m an economist and researcher working at the intersection of macroeconomics and econometrics, with a focus on causal inference and forecasting in data-rich environments.
I was born and raised in Belarus, studied in Italy (Rome and Milan), and completed my PhD at Harvard. I now work in New York, where I continue to explore how modern econometric methods can help us understand macroeconomic dynamics.
Beyond research, I enjoy:
- Chess - strong amateur player who enjoys both blitz and classical games
- Tennis - NTRP 3.5 level, playing regularly in NYC
- Kitesurfing & Waterskiing - former professional athlete with years of competitive experience
- Writing - essays and prose on economics, philosophy, and other topics
- Languages - fluent in Belarusian, Russian, English, and Italian; conversational French
